I absolutely love ForeverStrong PT! I was looking for something that could fit into my schedule and help get back into shape. What I got was so much more! I look better in the mirror, I have increased my energy levels ten-fold, and I am feeling more confident. One of the things that I love about the program is that you push yourself to the max and you don’t have to meet a certain number of repetitions. Interval training allows me to burn calories for the rest of the day while having fun during the workout. My goal, a little different than most, is not weight loss but reduction of body fat, increased strength and lean muscle tone. ForeverStrong approach is the most comprehensive and motivating program I have ever tried (and I have tried more than I care to admit). They listened to my personal goals and desired time frame to accomplish them and then set an individualized plan of action. I appreciate, although dread my weigh-in, measurement because they keep me accountable-a “necessary evil” in this process.
My trainer, JP Steyl is one of the best trainers I have ever had. He is driven and motivating. He has a great sense of humor, which I very much appreciate. So while he pushes me to my limit and beyond we also can have a good laugh. He doesn’t ask anything of me that he does not expect from himself – he very obviously walks the fitness talk. I have been overweight ever since I can remember and had just about given up the idea of being able to lose any of it. I had tried all diets you can think of. Normally I would lose and then gain it all back and more. I had tried different diets and exercises, nothing helped.
I thought, “I guess this is how I’m going to be.” I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror and I wasn’t happy. I asked, “Why can some people lose weight and I can’t.” Then, in November of 2012, a co-worker told me about Forever Strong. She has started training with Kevin Anderson and the result was amazing. She was the one that suggested that I go for a free trial. I have to say, that was the best decision I ever made.
Training with Kevin is not easy at all, but as soon as u see results you can’t wait for your next exercise with him. He helped me with an eating plan and he also made me realize that it is not just a diet, it has to become my lifestyle. The past months my body has transformed and there is only one person to thank, Kevin Anderson. My friends and family are amazed at how my body has changed. I have lost more weight than I could have hoped for and have gained self-confidence.
In April 2012 I separated from my husband and had gained 11kgs from being miserable all the time. After getting separated I decided to join the gym to keep myself occupied through this tough emotional time, move my focus and lose weight at the same time. I used to be fit when I was younger and thought it would be easy…I wasn’t too fat or too unfit in my own mind. The lady that signed me up suggested a personal trainer and that’s how I met Kevin Anderson.
I started training with Kevin in July 2012, which is almost a year ago. Kevin motivated me to do better than just being occupied with something… He gave me diet tips, eating plans and some days nearly killed me. I was so sore some days and got very despondent. He just kept at it, motivating me and encouraging me. I have lost 18kg of fat and 32cm.
For as long as I can remember I have had problems with my weight. I was told “it’s in my genes” but I have always been fully aware of my obsession with food. I am what you call an “emotional eater”. I celebrated with food and I would find comfort with food. So no matter how I was feeling, I was eating! I have been “on diet” since I can remember. Name a product I have tried it. Weigh-Less (I joined 3 times), Herbalife, injections, pills, starvation, shakes, Atkins, machines that exercise while you lie strapped to them, pads all over my body shocking me, cabbage diets, dieticians and many more.
I even joined the gym a few times. I would lose 10kg and hit a plateau, get despondent and comfort with food. This was my pattern for the last 20 years. The result: I would gain the 10kg I lost and put on an extra 5, only to repeat this pattern over and over. When 2012 came around I was at a point where I thought to myself “ok – this is me – the fat, funny girl”. I would be the life of any party. Bold and loud mouthed: strange behavior for someone who was as insecure as I was. In retrospect, I realize I was overcompensating for that insecurity by acting as if my body did not bother me. I would say that people should accept me as I was, which is funny, because I didn’t accept myself.The reality is that overweight people are judged by society. It’s not fair, but it’s true.When I tipped the scales at a whopping 105.7kg .I realised this cannot continue. I don’t want to live like this. Always suffering from fatigue, aching legs and back pain, all as a result of carrying excess weight.
I tried to lose some weight on my own, re-joined Weigh-Less and lost about 9kg. When I plateaued again, I realised that I had to get moving if I wanted to lose the rest of the weight. Unfortunately (and fortunately), I am not one of those people that can go to a gym and do my own thing. I need someone to push me, tell me what to do. This is where Kevin comes in. I signed up with Kevin in July 2012 and that is where my journey truly began. It has not been an easy journey, make no mistake. Juggling life as a single mom is not easy, throw into the mix a very demanding job and starting a new relationship. It’s safe to say there were times I just wanted to throw in the towel, but for some reason, I stuck it out. I had and still do have an amazing support system and when my friends, family and colleagues all started noticing a change, this motivated me to keep going.
I could probably have reached my goal if I had stuck 100% to the eating plan – but as I have said to Kevin – life is too short, I want to enjoy my life – I don’t want to be one of those girls that exercises 7 days a week and when going out to dinner, orders a lettuce leaf. So it has been almost a year now and it’s been hard but I have continuously managed to lose weight – I am now 32kg lighter. Kevin (and I) get results because he keeps changing the routines. He makes it interesting and, (words I never thought I would ever say) he makes exercise fun. He is always ready to give advice and even more ready to encourage and motivate me. I hit a bad patch during December 2012 and gained some weight, but when January 2013 rolled around Kevin just said “let’s start again”. I still have some way to go – but I am less than 5kg from my goal, and by that I mean a healthy weight for me. Not what the medical profession goes on, your BMI. I am a female of 42 years with a big bone structure and am short – I would look sick if I have to weigh the 42kg the BMI system expects me to weigh. So find your number – where you will feel comfortable with yourself, and make that your goal weight.

I was a typical person who spent a lot on gym memberships but I never went, this was until Nicola le Roux told me about Kevin and ForeverStrong. I must say that I was very sceptical about this. After the first session I could barely walk for a week. These days there are days that I am scared of not dying during sessions, but the results are worth all the hard work. So far I have lost 8kg of fat, have built 4kg of muscle and my body fat have dropped to 21% in only 4 short months!

In December 2012 I decided that I need to make a drastic life change, being a 28 year old male, on chronic medication for hypertension and overweight with a high body fat content, I realized I’m putting myself at risk for heart disease, diabetes and other life threatening illnesses I needed this change to happen immediately.
I started looking online and came across Foreverstrong personal training, I realized that I needed personal training more than I thought, going to the gym was a chore and I hated every minute…First I had to miss my favorite TV shows, look for parking, wait for equipment and then stand around aimlessly wasting time and eventually just walking out. I never really knew how to train properly; I would just go there to run, cycle, and row just for the sake of going. I never noticed any results which de-motivated me more.
Then I started at Foreverstrong
My first day was crazy, I was jumping , running, squatting and doing all these “strange” exercises, then the trainer said “that was just the warmup”. I thought this man was insane and doesn’t he know I can’t do this much exercise?!? So I said, this isn’t for me. The next morning I woke up and was so sore, I don’t know what hit me and realized this is a good sore and what do I have to lose by joining? (a lot of weight I know.) My life has changed for the better, the coaches at Foreverstrong designed a specific plan for me, its not easy to follow but I was tired of the “best’ diets everybody had to offer…which just resulted in more weight gain?? This is the biggest frustration. I learnt to make life changes and not to diet, I no longer crave all the foods I used to, I don’t have difficulty getting up in the morning anymore. My blood pressure used to constantly be high (165/90 or 160/95) which isn’t healthy at any age, now I have it checked regularly (130/70). The tests don’t lie.
I feared I had to give up all foods and stop having a great time and just eat boring “health” food, I was wrong. I was also afraid that I won’t be able to keep up with the training and will eventually drop out of class, that was until Kevin ,(Mr Foreverstrong) helped me get past the mental plateaus that stopped me from doing my best and training at high intensity.
I enjoy the family atmosphere that Foreverstrong has, you are grouped with people of the same fitness level as you so training becomes bearable as we all work together.

My name is Angela Sass. I started working out at Foreverstrong 6months ago. I have lost 17.3kg of fat since I started. I have also lost a total of 47cm. At first I was very afraid to start working out because I did not want to be sore the next couple of days. Also, I have never been an active person. My job is a sitting down job. All of my activities in the past were some gardening, cleaning my house.
My experience with ForeverStrong has been very good. They are nice and patient. They encourage me to workout hard but in a gentile way. Now I am more active and feel better.
